Online Readings

What?
Before I start to trial my TAI I need to find some readings to support my inquiry but also help guide me.
So what?
It is important I find some readings that support my TAI around an authentic audience combined with peer and parent feedback. I need to think about some of the following questions.

  • Is what I am doing worth while?
  • Will it work in my class?
  • Is it something I can see my class pursuing?
  • Will it help my writers that need the help?
  • Have I got the right question?
  • Is there something else that could be more valuable?

I am sure I will come up with other questions as I am finding readings, but also reading them.

Now what?
By next week I need to read through my readings and take some notes. The readings I have so far are all online (some are PDFs) - I will need to talk to my SLT and see if they know of any readings that could be valuable for me.

Readings to date I have found:
Peer Review  - ReadWriteThink
Using Peer Review to Help Students Improve their Writing - Washington University in St. Louis
Planning and Guiding In- Class Peer Review - Washington University in St. Louis
The Power of Peer Feedback - (excellent ideas in comments section) Edutopia, George Lucas Educational Foundation
On Commenting - Digital Teachers Project

PDFs
Models, Critique and Descriptive Feedback - Expeditionary Learning
A collaborative writing approach: Methodology and student assessment - The Language Teacher - Feature Article

Sites to look into:
Young Writers Project
Purdue Online Writing Lab
Google Form Comment Sheet - in Sites

I think this shows evidence against:
