Writing Teacher Inquiry

What?
At school we are changing the way we do our 'Teaching as Inquiry'. It is now linking in with our PTCs. This is a new journey for us all. To make it easier all classroom teachers will be looking at strategies to help move their lower writers. Below is the presentation that was shared with us during our first PD session. We are moving away from sites - as they have just been used as proof - and going towards blogs so they can be used as evidence.

So what?
It is a good idea working on one topic as a staff as we will be able to bounce ideas off each other. Changing the way we collect evidence against our PTCs at the same time is also beneficial so we can all help each other. Being one of the staff members that helps others with their use of digital technology will mean I will be busy for a few weeks but it is a part of my role I really enjoy. Thinking ahead I have already created a self help presentation which includes 'how to' videos and this can be found below.

Now what?

By the next session I have to identify my lower writers so I can bring examples of their writing.

I also have to help the staff at Southwell set up and develop their own blogs. I have created a template (the blog I am using) and have downloaded the layout and content, ready for staff to upload and create their own blogs.

I think in attending this PD I have evidence against:

  1. Spot on Glen. It is good to see you identifying PTC5 here as this is a key part of your role as a facilitator and resource person of e-learning. We appreciate the way you make yourself available and you are always willing to help. You are sooooo patient too!
